The Kalani Oceanside Retreat Center is a beautiful spot that is secluded and somewhat remote. You will really feel like you have escaped to a peaceful, tropical oasis. There are no televisions, so bring a good book! Cell phone service is limited or nonexistent. There are no phones in the rooms, but you can use phones in the Guest Services office. We recommend that you have a calling card to make phone calls, which you may purchase at Guest Services. If you want to stay connected, we suggest you bring a laptop.
Packing considerations:
Yoga clothes!
A pareo or sarong (to use for Hula, Poolside, Massage services.)
Small flashlight or Headlamp (the grounds are pitch dark at night.)
The atmosphere is very casual, even at dinner, wear what’s comfortable.
The evenings can be chilly, bring a sweater or sweatshirt and a long pair of pants.
There is no air conditioning, just trade wind breezes, yoga classes may feel hot and sweaty at times!
Athletic shoes for walking, hiking and biking.
Bathing suit and flip flops. Please be advised that the swimming pool and local beaches are clothing optional. So if you forget your suit, it’s okay!
A hat, or visor for sun protection and a light rain jacket and/or umbrella.
Reusable water bottle.
It is not necessary to bring your own yoga mat, the Kalani provides yoga mats.
Sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
Shampoo, personal care items. Kalani provides body soap. There is a small shop with essentials but it is best to bring what you need.
Fresh beach towels are provided.
There is laundry service, $15 per load.
There is no alcohol served or sold at the retreat center. Although you are welcome to purchase your own beer or wine prior to coming to the retreat center and bring it with you. Usually the shuttle drivers don’t mind making a quick stop at the store on the way to the Kalani.
